Boards Of Canada
Boards of Canada is the duo of brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin, raised in Scotland and later based in Edinburgh. Releasing on Warp Records from 1998, their albums Music Has the Right to Children (1998), Geogaddi (2002), and The Campfire Headphase (2005) established them as defining figures of electronic music through a sound built on tape-degraded synthesisers, decayed sample textures, and an uncanny nostalgia for 1970s educational film and public broadcast aesthetics. Their music generates a persistent sense of lost childhood and ambient unease. They have released music infrequently, with Tomorrow's Harvest (2013) being their most recent LP.
