Bernard Fort

Bernard Fort (born 1953) is a French composer of electroacoustic and musique concrète, and a researcher at GRAME in Lyon. His compositions draw on natural and biological sound sources — particularly birdsong and insect sound — processed through acousmatic techniques into extended works of environmental sonic meditation. He has released on the GRM's Recollection label and other electroacoustic imprints, and has won awards at the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Competition. His work engages with ecology, listening, and the sonic richness of the natural world.
