Baudouin Oosterlynck
Baudouin Oosterlynck (1938–2019) was a Belgian composer, sound artist, and visual artist. He was one of the earliest figures in Belgian musique concrète and electroacoustic music, working with prepared piano, voice, and found objects from the mid-1970s onward. Much of his material remained unreleased during his lifetime. The compilation 1975–1978 (Metaphon, 2020) gathered recordings of prepared piano and voice, most previously unreleased, presenting a significant figure in European experimental music who had worked largely in isolation from mainstream institutional recognition. Refuge, recorded in that period, exemplifies his approach to raw acoustic material.
