Başak Günak

Başak Günak is an Istanbul-born, Berlin-based composer and sound artist also known in electronic music as AH! KOSMOS. Working with test equipment, acoustic instruments and found sound, she builds immersive, hard-to-classify sonic worlds across solo records, installations and scores for theater, dance and film. Her albums include Beautiful Swamp, named a best album of 2018 by Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Bluets, a 2022 Byte.FM best album, and Rewilding on Subtext Recordings. Notable works include THE WELL, an eleven-speaker installation staged at ARTER Istanbul. She has held residencies at INA GRM Paris and EMS Stockholm, and has curated the FUU label since 2018.
