Arnold Dreyblatt
Arnold Dreyblatt (b. 1953, New York) is an American composer and visual artist based in Berlin who has developed one of the most distinctive voices in post-minimalist experimental music. His work centers on specially constructed and modified instruments — including a modified double bass with wire strings and bowed metallic objects — that generate rich harmonic overtone series based on just intonation.
Dreyblatt founded his Orchestra of Excited Strings in New York in the late 1970s, and subsequently relocated to Berlin where the group has continued to perform.
