Ariel Guzik

Ariel Guzik (born 1960) is a Mexican artist, inventor, and musician based in Mexico City whose practice integrates science, art, and ecology through self-built devices and instruments. His works — including Cordiox, designed to receive signals from dolphin communication — blend experimental acoustics, biology, and poetic speculation into immersive installations. He has exhibited at major institutions including the Palacio de Bellas Artes and received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2018. His approach treats acoustic phenomena as a medium for inter-species and interplanetary communication, making him one of the most original artists at the intersection of science and sound art.
