Arca

Arca is the alias of Alejandra Ghersi, a Venezuelan-born producer and vocalist raised between Caracas and Connecticut before settling in Barcelona. After early teenage releases as Nuuro, she emerged as Arca with the EP Baron Libre (2012), then albums Xen (2014) and Mutant (2015), pairing shattered club rhythms with visceral sound design. Arca (2017) introduced her singing voice and a fluid trans-femme persona explored across five albums titled Kick (2020-21). She has produced for Björk, Kanye West and FKA twigs, and stages her music through sculptural costume, video and live performance treating the body as unstable, mutable material.
