Anri Sala

Anri Sala (b. 1974, Tirana) is an Albanian artist working across film, video, sound installations and sculpture. His poetic, often melancholic pieces examine memory, architecture, time and the subtle interplay between image and sound within politically and historically charged contexts. Through sensitive treatment of perception and duration, his work continues to influence contemporary installation art. His major work Ravel Ravel Unravel (2013) explored synchronisation and interpretive freedom through simultaneous performances of Ravel's Piano Concerto. He represented France at the 2013 Venice Biennale.
