Andrea Giordano

Andrea Giordano is an Italian composer, singer, improviser and multi-instrumentalist from Piedmont, now based in Oslo. Working with organetto, voice and mixed ensembles, she develops a language shaped by piedmontese dialect and unresolved harmonic juxtapositions, moving between notated composition and free improvisation. She leads the large-ensemble suite Àlea, released on Sofa, and performs in the duo ŌTONN with collaborators including Ingar Zach. With accordionist Kalle Moberg and guitarist Jo David Meyer Lysne she forms the Oslo trio Radis, whose debut appeared on Black Truffle. A residency at Stockholm's Elektronmusikstudion produced a solo album extending this practice.
