André Almuro
André Almuro (1929–1989) was a French-Cuban composer and a member of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) in Paris. Working with musique concrète and early electroacoustic techniques from the 1960s, he produced a body of work that engaged with tropical sound environments, rhythm, and the transformation of acoustic material through tape manipulation. His works were distributed through the GRM's archives and performances, and he remained a relatively little-documented figure within the larger GRM constellation — though his recordings demonstrate compositional imagination and technical facility within the concrete music tradition.
