Alternative TV

Alternative TV is a British post-punk and experimental band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Perry — founding editor of the influential punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue (1976) — and Alex Fergusson. Their debut album The Image Has Cracked (1978) blended punk and dub, while Vibing Up the Senile Man Part One (1979) moved into avant-garde and experimental territory. Perry reformed the band in 1985 and has continued intermittently since, with later albums including Punk Life (1998), Apollo (1999), and Opposing Forces (2015). The group is considered a pioneer of post-punk and early DIY culture.
