Alina Maldonado

Based in Mexico City, Alina Maldonado is a sound artist and musician who combines violin with electronics, applying extended and traditional techniques to create noise-rich textures and improvised structures. Her practice questions the limits of classical training, exploring sensations, identity, and musical language through what she calls a nomadic aesthetic in which improvisation plays a central role. Her project Líneas de Fuga pairs violin with live electronics. Her recordings include the albums Ver las voces, escuchar al fuego and El sonido no llena el espacio, lo crea, released on Bandcamp.
