Ali Phi

Ali Phi is an Iranian-born transmedia artist, creative technologist, and musician born in 1987 in Tehran and based in Toronto. His background spans environmental engineering and experimental film, and his practice encompasses generative audiovisual design, interactive installation, and electronic music made with Max MSP and Ableton Live. His work draws heavily on the architecture, ritual, and visual traditions of ancient Persia and the Middle East. He has performed and exhibited at MUTEK Dubai, Ars Electronica, and the Tehran Architecture Biennial, and is founder and creative director of the media arts collective Nullsight.
