Alexander Robotnick
Alexander Robotnick is the alias of Maurizio Dami, an Italian electronic musician and DJ born in 1950. Beginning in jazz guitar before moving to electronics at 27, he released Problèmes d'amour in 1983 — a foundational track of Italo disco that would later influence Chicago house and Detroit techno, and remains a reference in the history of electronic dance music. Rediscovered online in the late 1990s, he launched a DJ career in 2003 and runs the Hot Elephant Music label. He performs at clubs including Berghain, Fabric, and the Movement Festival.
