Alexander Bruck
A violist and experimental musician based in Mexico City, Alexander Bruck performs with Liminar and Generación Espontánea, two of the most significant contemporary music ensembles in Mexico. He teaches viola and new music at the Escuela Superior de Música/CENART and has a particular focus on microtonal music — compositions employing intervals smaller than the Western semitone. He also works as a bookseller at Siranda, where he co-programmes concerts of improvised music alongside Bacal/Colaboratorio Sonoro. His practice moves between contemporary concert music, free jazz, noise, and sound art.
