Albert Mayr
Albert Mayr (1943–2024) was an Italian composer of experimental and electroacoustic music. He studied in Bolzano, Florence, and Darmstadt, working with Pietro Grossi in Florence from 1963 to 1969 before a period at McGill University in Montreal. He taught electronic and experimental music at the Florence Conservatory until 1990 and participated in the World Soundscape Project in 1975. His practice engaged with soundscape, time perception, and environmental sound, and he founded the Musica Oggi association in 1980 to support experimental music culture in Italy.
