Aimée Theriot
Aimée Theriot is a Mexican-born sound artist, musician, researcher, and organiser based in Amsterdam. Working primarily with e-cello, live electronics, voice, and field recordings, her practice begins with listening, treating sound as a vibrational, sculptural medium moving between noise and structure, drone and detail.
Drawing on free improvisation, ambient, and ASMR aesthetics, her work explores listening in a digitally-mediated society from a decolonial and feminist perspective, spanning music, writing, installation, and curation. Recent projects include the series Filamental and the installation Unbound Echo. She has performed at Gaudeamus Festival, FIBER Festival, and Sonic Acts.
