Agente Costura

Agente Costura is the project of Lisa Simpson, a Brazilian artist, performer, seamstress, instrument builder, and noise musician based in Berlin. She studied visual arts at Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná, holds an MA from Emily Carr University, and is a graduate of Institut für Kunst im Kontext at Universität der Künste Berlin. Performing with sewing machines converted into noise boxes, self-made wearable electronic instruments — talking hats, musical handbags — and oscillating feedback machines, she has presented work at HKW Berlin, Akademie der Künste, Bimhuis Amsterdam, and Goethe Institut Jakarta.
