Add N To (X)

Add N To (X) were a London-based electronic group active from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, comprising Ann Shenton, Barry Smith, and Steve claydon. Working with vintage analogue synthesisers before their revival became fashionable, they produced a confrontational and often humorous hybrid of Krautrock, electro, and noise that positioned them within the post-punk revival alongside Fat Truckers and Adult. Albums on Mute Records including Vero Electronics (1998) and Avant Hard (1999) demonstrated both technical facility with early hardware and a provocateur's instinct for transgression. They disbanded around 2002; members have continued in other projects.
